Overview
Students in Kindergarten - 5th grade have a scheduled story/library time every two weeks. Our media center opens 7:45 - 8:15 for Eastside students each school day. Also Eastside students may come to the library at teacher's convenience on Friday's. Teacher's may bring entire class or send 4 - 5 students independently.
Liberty teacher's are scheduled a 10 - 15 minute off-week time on Thursday's for checking in and out books only.
Our library has over 20,000 copies of fiction, non-fiction, and picture books available for the students to check out. We also have a reference section that is not available for check out, but students may use in the media center.
Check-out Policy
In the Eastside Media Center, we have scheduled library times for Liberty and Eastside students. First grade students may check out 3 books each, second grade students may check out 4 books each, 3rd grade students may check out 3 books each, 4th and 5th grade students may check out 2 books each. Books are due two weeks after check out; however, may be renewed one time if student is not finished with book/books. This excludes Sequoyah Masterlist books. Students must return all books to be able to check out on library week.
Overdue, Lost or Damaged Books
We do not charge fines for overdue books; however, lost or damaged books will need to be paid with full price of book. Reminders are sent out monthly.
